Marte Heitmann is a Norwegian abstract artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes of Northern Norway. Growing up in Bodø and surrounded by the dramatic scenery of Lofoten, she developed a deep connection to nature that continues to shape her artistic practice. Experiences from her travels also influence her work, adding new impressions and perspectives to her visual language.

Working primarily on large canvases, Heitmann combines acrylic, oil, texture, and mixed materials to create layered and expressive compositions. Her process is intuitive, allowing each painting to develop naturally through movement, experimentation, and the interaction between materials.

Through abstraction, she explores the colours, textures, and atmosphere found in nature, creating works that invite reflection and a sense of connection.
